We are excited to announce that our article was published on T Nation for the first time yesterday.

This is an inside look into a method that we use for our own training and clients, from athletes to weekend warriors, to warm up before working sets. Typically, we aim to begin our sessions with a self myofascial release (via foam rolling and other tools), specific corrective activities based on the individual’s FMS, and a quality dynamic warm up before jumping into this reactive warmup.

However, whether on a time constraint or not, this is an awesome system to mix up the start of your training while raising your core temperature, practicing certain skills (such as power development), and revving up the nervous system.

Personally, we have trained with and without the reactive warm up but we always get more out of our lifts when we do. We tend to be stronger, maintain our athleticism, and expend more calories with this type of warm up.

Now it may not be a method that you use all the time, especially if your program calls for plyometrics later in your workout like in complex training. So use with caution but definitely give it a try!
