Every superhero needs a sidekick. Since abs are made in the kitchen, how about having your own Robin as a sous chef?

This one piece of equipment can be just that by saving precious time, reducing the amount of clean up, (because there’s nothing worse than a sink full of dirty pots and pans) and delivering dishes the guests will be raving about. That partner in crime (or for the good of humanity) is the slow cooker, also known to many as the Crock-Pot.

It has become a Sons of Strength Go-To in our weekly meal preparation and as we experiment with new dishes and experiments. The slow cooker has over delivered to keep our taste buds satisfied and our diets in check; especially with all the holiday parties to attend and the Christmas cookies begging to be ate.

Damn gingerbread men…

Replace the excuse to eat out again tonight with a home-cooked, physique friendly meal. With a few quality ingredients, small amount of prep work, and a flip of a switch, you can start this short rib recipe in the morning and enjoy it for dinner tonight!

  4. Add the other half of vegetable on top and around the short ribs.
  5. Pour the wine and bone broth to the slow cooker.
  6. Place the lid on the slow cooker and switch it on to low. Allow the ingredients to cook for 6 to 8 hours.

Note: Keep your faith in the recipe and no matter how great it smells, leave the top on the slow cooker for the entire time to keep the moisture and flavor locked in!
